Court Toon: Roberts “Faithfully” Practices Presidential Oath

In 2009, Chief Justice John Roberts had a rather difficult time swearing in Barack Obama as president 44th President of the United States of America.  The botched oath came down to the word “faithfully” and where it is mentioned during the oath.

Justice Roberts said, “”I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear [pause] that I will execute the Office of the President faithfully.”

The oath is supposed to read, “I, Barack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of the President.”

However, Roberts made sure he practiced this time…
