Ohio Man Arrested 20 Times In 2012

Police in Columbus arrested a man for the 20th time this year on Tuesday, after they said he was wandering drunk downtown, TheIndyChannel reports.

Joseph L. Nichols, 46, was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxication and resisting law enforcement Tuesday night. He’s been arrested 16 times for alcohol-related offenses and four other times this year for outstanding warrants.

Columbus police said Nichols’ arrest marks the 16th alcohol-related arrest this year. Nichols was arrested four other times this year on outstanding warrants, police said. Nichols was arrested after someone called police to report suspected car break-ins, police said.

The responding officer found Nichols, who told the officer he’d been drinking for two consecutive days, police said. Nichols was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital and released, police said
