American Airlines Pilot Leadership Say Ok To Bankruptcy Plan Delay
The leadership of the Allied Pilots Association told union members that they don’t object to a delay in American Airlines’bankruptcy case if means there’s a better chance of a merger with US Airways Group Inc. The Dallas Morning News reported that APA President Keith Wilson sent a message to pilots this week that suggested a one-month delay might help improve the chances for such a merger. The Association of Professional Flight attendants said last week that they didn’t object to such a delay. Last week, Fort Worth-based American Airlines, its parent company AMR Corp., and the unsecured creditors committee asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to give American an additional month to file a restructuring plan.
